This is the holiday drabblet (more than a drabble yet not quite a ficlet) I wrote for sonadorita. I didn't intend to post these, but Dorie gave her permission and that gives me another opportunity to rec her fic They Say He Was On The Moon, which my drabblet follows. I like the way you've continued the tone and pace of the original story (which was fabulous) and the sense of whistful sadness that is twisted through the peace that they've found with each other. It's lovely.

Her story was so good. It struck a chord in my heart - like you say even through their own sadness, they've found a little spot of hope that is, nevertheless, bittersweet because I'm not sure either of them have any hope at that point.
