Okay, it's time for one of those "yes, I am alive" posts. Yes. I am alive. However, I've been fending off a killer sinus infection for about 4 weeks now. I've gone the antibiotic/narcotic route twice and, honestly, coming out of that funk is bad enough… so I'm just winging it right now and trying to get rest, blah, blah

Honestly, I would bet it has/had more to do with folks really not being familiar with Joe and David's other roles and/or gravitating more to John & Rodney. That's kind of why I'd like to do this, because they are getting more roles and may even appear together again. Who knows, this might be dead in the water, too. I just want to be sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes in the process.

Have you or your medical people considered administering oxygen to try to push the infection out? I only got rid of a horrible 6-MONTH(!) cough with both general anaesthesia and being hooked up to oxygen for 24 hours after my surgery. So I definitely credit the oxygen.

I really want the comm to be a mult-media community, so podfic will definitely be welcome. Just throwing that out there.

I suppose what I really see the community being is a place where we could have everything - fic, caps, vids, art, news, links to provide media for people who haven't seen some of the other roles. Also a community where everyone can contribute and someone can find something of interest.
As for challenges... I realized over the weekend that this year is the McShep Match's 5th Anniversary, so I might be going with the *exception* rule for just that one. ;D
Oh, and Brendan/Vincent... no, since there's no Hewlett character (though who am I to say there was no threesome) Brendan and Vincent as a pairing wouldn't be considered - BUT each individual character would be fair game to pair up. Although... the more I think about that threesome... hmmmmmmm

Just think of all the possible combinations there are to choose from!

While I'd love to see you sign up for McShep Match, I understand the pressure a deadline puts on writing and that while it can be a positive thing, it can also be negative.
I agree with the others that you should absolutely write what your heart tells you to write. The love for your work will shine through and it will find its audience. (I think I've said it before. Fandom supposedly is all about the happy-making fluff, but think about the popularity of "Freedom's just another word".)
And absolutely yay for a Hewligan comm. I've created a Hewligan Wiki on Wikia a while ago, but never got around to actually get it started. I could maybe discuss it on the new comm.

I'm seriously thinking that McShep Match has a built-in *exception* rule - especially since you'll be one of the Captains!! (congrats, btw) Of course, who know which team I'll be assigned to, but I think the added challenge of the structure tends to make it harder to say no.
I'm really hoping I can create a place where Hewligan can be fun and I'll be able to offer fandom many ways to participate - fic, art, screencaps, vids, news, etc. *crosses fingers*
