songbook girdle books
I have just finished the A6 experimental book, I have been experimenting with some knots that Master Sigurd suggested to me being a matthew walker knot and while I need to do more practice with leather doing this knot it I am learning along the way.

Lochac snogbook in process
I have tipped in the end pages and pasted them down and have done stage one of the cover - I have used my type holder for the first time and my old english 32pt brass type also for the first time and did this with gold work on the cover. Now I am waiting for the type holder an type to cool down and then I will remove it and reset with a mixture of ( Read more... ) -
Girdle book stamping with experimental new stamps
So had a bit of a play with some new stamps and mostly happy, the key thing I have found is it hard to get things lined up carefully when using gold foil as you cannot see where the others are exactly. Temperature of your tool has to be perfect to get the correct adhesion for gold foil to work. Also its had to stamp at the bottom of the book on a ( Read more... ) -
song book bound with gold tooling
I have just done the tooling on this book, this is a printed book with song books inside it. The side with the gold lines is the front which while is nice I am not completely happy with, my first time tooling gold lines and have figured out a technique for it but now to figure out how to modify that technique to mean I don't go over the edges. Clasps for books - retrofitting a clasp
I finished retro fitting a clasp to a girdle book I have in progress. Normally I would chisel the wood where I am going to have the clasp and back plate sit (the size of the clasp etc plus a little bit so when the leather is applied the clasp will still fit). I have been working on combining three song books used in Lochac - the Lochac snog book, the rowany festival song book and Baroness Ceceilia's songbook. I have experimented with some printing and adobe editor and have created one book which has the 3 books as one just as they were originally released, one where all the songs start on the right ( Read more... ) -
Furry book - for fun
I have mentioned for a while I wanted to make a book covered in fur, well I have now - I actually really quite like it, even if the first comment I got was "oh a fetish book", but latter from a different person I was asked "how much"
I don't have any historic documentation for this but its for fun.
