Sleepless. With chloeas and dl_greenarrow

Oliver lay in bed, Chloe curled up beside him. In the darkness he could hear the sound of both Mia and Chloe's breathing and he glanced over at the cot, just a few feet from where he was, then down at Chloe. He pressed a kiss to the top of her head and let his eyes drift shut.

Chloe was actually relieved that Mia had agreed to the sleeping arrangements, she knew she was still shaken up about everything that happened and Chloe couldn't blame her because she, herself was too.

She glanced towards Mia one more time then tightened her arm around Oliver, with all of them in the same room, at least she knew they were all safe and would hear the second something happened, if it happened. Maybe that would help her sleep better too.

Oliver turned over onto his side, tucking his hand beneath the pillow, frowning a little as he slept. His eyebrows furrowed a little, and he sighed softly. He didn't dream, but something felt wrong nonetheless.

Oliver rested his head against hers. "I know," he murmured. He wished that things were easier, especially for Mia's sake. Somehow he was pretty sure that when she'd been inducted into his family, she hadn't expected a lot of the baggage that had come along with it.

Chloe held on to her hand and sighed, looking at Mia worriedly "do you think you can go back to sleep?"

"I don't know," Mia shrugged one shoulder and looked at the rumpled mess of blankets on the other end of the cot. "Usually I just read until I hear you guys getting up in the morning."

Oliver studied her for a moment, then glanced at Chloe. "Why don't we stay with you until you fall asleep again?"
