Sleepless. With chloeas and dl_greenarrow

Mia had agreed to try sleeping in Oliver and Chloe's room for a few nights, just to see if it would help with the nightmares.  She wasn't really fond of the idea, because she was seventeen and not five, after all.  She couldn't be running to Ollie and Chloe whenever she had a bad dream.  It was childish.

And then Slade had reared his monstrous head

Oliver rested his head against hers. "I know," he murmured. He wished that things were easier, especially for Mia's sake. Somehow he was pretty sure that when she'd been inducted into his family, she hadn't expected a lot of the baggage that had come along with it.

Chloe held on to her hand and sighed, looking at Mia worriedly "do you think you can go back to sleep?"

"I don't know," Mia shrugged one shoulder and looked at the rumpled mess of blankets on the other end of the cot. "Usually I just read until I hear you guys getting up in the morning."

Oliver studied her for a moment, then glanced at Chloe. "Why don't we stay with you until you fall asleep again?"

Chloe nodded and smiled softly at Mia, "it usually helps me." She said, glancing at Oliver.

Mia's eyes shifted from Chloe's face to Oliver's, then back again. "We're not all gonna fit on the cot," she pointed out, matter of fact.

He glanced at Chloe, a small smile of amusement tugging at his lips. "Well, then we have two choices. We can all pile in the nice king size bed, or you and Chloe can take the cot and I'll just stay right here beside it." He rubbed Mia's back gently.

"We can all fit on the bed," she nodded a little, looking from Oliver to Mia, "if you're comfortable with that."

"Okay." Mia smiled a little, shaky as it was. "But if you snore, I'm gonna kick you."

A chuckle escaped him. "She doesn't snore, but she does hog the bed." His voice was teasing as he glanced at Chloe.

Chloe rolled her eyes a little but smiled at Mia, standing up without letting go of her hand, "and if you get kicked during the night, you can blame that on Oliver."
