The fifth book I've finished so far this year...

Yeah, fifth book this year. I felt pretty awesome, I must say. And then I slowed down.

As I may have said before (I'm not to sure), I have a sensible aversion to "favorites". There are times when Terry Pratchett would hit the spot, while there are times when one must have meatier fare. So, I finished Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint, the mass market paperback fantasy that I bought back on Monday from the Tiger, with the justification that if I didn't buy it, no one else was likely to. Another good day at work at the Other Tiger bookstore today. Science Fiction/Fantasy is sort of a ghetto section at The Other Tiger. I don't want it to be, and from time to time I've been working to make it less so, but it more or less is.

Done with A Game of Thrones. Bloody excellent, it was. I could say more lofty praise of it's quality, but I don't think I will.
