I've talked about hemmoraging value before. I've talked about certain types of protectionism before. I haven't talked about the concept of paying taxes voluntarily as being patiotic. I won't go into that specific concept at the moment.

You know it's funny, I was just talking about this.

I'm sure I'll be criticized by some people, but I never itemize. I'll take standard deductions that everybody gets just for breathing. Other than that I just pay what I owe because that's my fair share and it's my patriotic duty.

It's kinda strange to me, the idea of nickle-and-diming the government. It's sort of like what happened with this whole mortgage mess. People think that they can profit at the expense of everyone else, somehow "win," when in the end everyone ends up losing. But as soon as one person gets out of something, everyone else feels entitled to their cut or discount. So, frankly, get rid of the damn cuts and discounts, and look at anyone who takes them as cheaters. Instead of honoring the person who gets "the best deal," we should honor the person who plays fair, the person who recognized reality, the person who pays for what they get, the person who is productive, the product that is of the highest quality (no matter the price or the name on it ( ... )
