Crunchyroll Simulcasts Hayate Season 2
In a very last minute move, Crunchyroll has added yet another anime series to their Spring season lineup. & this one's a biggie too! It's the new second season of Hayate the Combat Butler!! The new season began today in Japan, & Crunchyroll put up an official English subtitled version this morning as well. (It's just a shame that season 2 has a new animation staff. While the new art style isn't drastically different, nor can it be considered bad in the slightest, the girls just don't look nearly as hot as they did in season 1.)
As with most of CR's simulcasts, new high-def episodes will be be available to paid members right after the program finishes in Japan, & free standard-def versions will be available to all a week later. But since this was the first episode, Crunchyroll decided to be nice & uploaded the episode free to everyone today (though still only paid members can watch it in HD)! So there you go, free & legal Hayate is finally available to us outside Japan! No word yet on if CR plans on adding reruns of the first season as well. Watch ep one now:
