Continuing with the
Naruto-themed news for the day, Viz is apparently planning a second
Naruto Nation event. From February through April of next year, three volumes of the Naruto manga a month. The result of this is that the English manga will now only be a single volume behind the Japanese version. Quite an accomplishment indeed.
Pretty neat how close the translated will be now, & it should also cut down on piracy as well. But I'm still left to wonder why. One of the reasons it was done last year was so that the manga could once again be ahead of the dubbed anime & therefor boost sales. But at this point the English manga still is ahead of the dub, especially now that the dub is
without a permanent home on American TV & having its future here
in doubt.
& like the last time, this accelerated graphic novel schedule leaves us wondering what it means for Naruto's serialization in Shonen Jump. Will they once again
skip ahead a few dozen chapters? It made more sense the last time because of the time-skip, but here there's not so much a good restarting point. At least the manga will be extremely close to the Japanese version that way. Guess we'll have to wait & see.
