Otaku Demand Right to Wed 2D Characters

Otaku in Japan are demanding their human rights, in the form of being allowed to legally marry 2D animated characters from anime & video games. Leaders in the movement have create a petition for supporters to sign, which will then be presented to the diet for consideration once it has gathered enough signatures.

There is, of course, a lot of details about such a right that remains blurred. Like, how exactly would a person get permission to marry a certain character? Would they need to get it from the original creator? Can more than one person marry a single character? Can a person marry more than one character? Does the age of the character matter since they're not technically real? Lots of food for thought here should this actually get passed.

So would you support this? & if so, who would you choose to wed? For myself, obviously there are those like Haruhi (Haruhi) & Asuka (Evangelion) that would be tops on my list. But there are also others like Hinamori (Bleach), Kallen (Code Geass), Shampoo (Ranma 1/2), & countless more that I would have to consider. There are also loli characters like Shana (Shakugan no Shana) & Rei (GX) as well if lolis were to be allowed. But I think it'd be weird enough to say my wife was animated, much as an animated little girl. However, the vast majority of anime girls are technically underage. Sure the girls from IkkiTousen, Bleach, & Code Geass would never be mistaken for lolis, but they are also all technically underage as well, no matter how leggy or busty or "mature" (in anime terms anyway) they may actually be. & should only one character be allowed to marry one person, I better hurry to the front of the line! Some key quotes from those who support the petition:

“We’ve no interest in the 3D. If we could, we’d like to live in a 2D world. However, with current technology, this is not possible. So at the very least, can we have marriage to 2D characters legally recognised? If this were to come to pass, I intend to marry Asahina Mikuru.”
“I’ve been married to Arcueid of Tsukihime for five years now. I’ve no doubt that I want to spend the rest of my life with her. As someone who lives in two dimensions, I’d very much like to support this measure!”
