Well, I hear a lot of manga and VAs start or make extra money with H. And the best people to do it are the ones who made the show. Considering how Rape-happy some series' doujins are. (info from a friend) I figure the people who made the show would make the best.

If I had an anime and could draw, I might do it too. Under a fake name. At least that way it'd be done so anyone "normal" could enjoy it.
hell yeah, there's unofficial pics of her. As much as pretty much any character really (honestly neo, using a term like "I hear" when you should know the full extent of the Japanese fanart community much better than that), but in Ika Musume's case, I swear I must've started seeing art of her swarming around Pixiv a good half a year before the anime was even announced.
