In terms of entertainment, Code Geass certainly ranks high in my mind. But I removed myself from this list while making it (I actually didn't like Gundam Wing much myself). & instead of focusing on what anime is entertaining (which is more objectionable), I went with what titles had the biggest impact. & while shows like Geass & FMA are popular, fun, & entertaining, I just couldn't justify putting them on this particular list.
damn... well, I was close (and I'm surprised you didn't mention Abridged Series). I did call Naruto appearing in the top 5, but it's surprisingly low amongst them... then again, I didn't consider Cowboy Bebop since I thought it was more of a late '90s anime (I'm aware Adult Swim is post-2000, but CB more than likely had a localized DVD release prior, thus my train of thought

Whoops, yeah, mentioning Abridges Series was in my notes, but I glossed over it somehow. I edited the entry to include it now.
Bebop aired in Japan in the late 1990s, but the American DVDs didn't start coming out until 2000, & then of course televised in 2001. Despite its age in Japan, it was just too huge a title in America for this decade not to mention.
Bebop in 4th!? Blasphemy! Spike died for our sins! ... or did he? A good list Nebs. It truly takes me back As I read though this list. 2000 left fond memory's when Anime was stellar to watch. But it's decline torwords the end of the decade concerns me. It's maintaining now I suppose, but with a certain cartoon networks (Guess which station I'm referring to...)rethinking of programming, I can't help but be scared for what lurks down the road.
but at the rate digital distribution's going, TV's probably gonna die off within the next decade or so anyway. Meanwhile, anime will continue to maintain a strong presence here on the interwebs, just as it's always been. -Yamato
Yu-Gi-Oh! is at #2?! YEAH!!! I couldn't escape the anime at all; in fact, when I first saw GX, I couldn't hide how much I liked it, because I was OBSESSED with it, and the previous series before that, too.
