Funimation Online Industry Panel

Oct 16, 2009 22:54

If you missed out on FUNimation's first ever virtual convention panel yesterday, no worries, because they recorded the whole thing & put it up on YouTube. It wasn't exactly like one of their regular con panels, as they didn't really discuss news or new announcements. Instead it mostly just Q&A, with questions submitted live by chat-goers at the time. It was actually pretty fun reading the chat while watching the live feed, so just watching a recording of it isn't quite as good as when it was live. But it was informative & is still fun to watch.

Adam Sheehan lead the virtual panel, just as he does with the panels at real conventions. Blog master Rojas was also on hand as well, but mostly worked in the background. At the very least they did show off some new anime merch & goodies that they're going to be selling soon. Usually new trailers are a big part of anime panels at cons, & in this department at least, Funi did deliver. They debuted the dub trailer for Rin, which is the abbreviated English title they've given to the very mature OVA series Mnemosyne. But exactly because of how mature the series is (those of you who watched it on NebsTV know what I'm talking about), they couldn't upload the trailer for it onto YouTube. Instead, you can check out the trailer on the DVD's official site, & even then the video doesn't show the worst of how gruesome & explicit Mnemosyne can be. You can check that out here, followed by part 2 of the archived virtual con panel below:
