IMG has a Patriot Extreme plan for $64/month, up to $50,000 limit, which excludes "mountaineering or climbing above 4500 meters from ground level and without the proper use of ropes and guides" - as opposed to most plans that simply exclude mountaineering.

1. My insurance (Anthem BCBS) does not cover immunizations unless there is a CDC advisory for the area (I will check for these :).  Looks like most insurance companies do not cover travel immunizations. Cost out of pocket: $90/doctor visit + $70-100 per shot ( Read more... )

Куда ходить пешком в Непале? В принципе, если нет пары месяцев "на фсё" - варианта два: Аннапурна или Эверест, Южный Базовый Лагерь. И еще один в уме - Лхаса-Тибет и Северный (тибетсткий базовый лагерь)

Если ехать в середине-конце сентября, погода в Таиланде преимущественно хорошая, и в горах Непала тоже. В непальских долинах может хлестать непереставая, но не факт. Если лежать неделю на пляже, или сидеть неделю в Катманде, то можно получить всю неделю дождя - но если двигаться, такой засады быть не должно. При этом, поскольку это официально еще ( Read more... )
