And my favourite characters, which happily fit in with my favourite tale. I felt it deserved a separate post >:)

Title: Red Riding Hood
Series: Tales of the City
Author: girlofprey
Rating: G (?)
Notes/Warning: Anton, Zavulon, pre-movieverse (I guess). Vague hints of violence, and blood. 465 words.

Thank you (...?)

It's not quite slash, I know...but I didn't want to oversexualise the relationship, at least not here. I tend to run into problems sometimes when I do :( And I think their relationship's interesting even without slash. In a 'seduce you over to the dark side/well, you're on your way even without me' sort of a way.

::is probably overthinking this::

*g* Don't worry, it's interesting in a positive way.

Oh yes. That's what I liked so much about Zavulon in both books and movie. He doesn't come off as evil and he seems to be interested in Anton for whatever reason.

::slightly abashed::

I worry too much.

Of course, there's also the fact that after a lot of obssession study on the subject, I've come to see Little Red Riding Hood as an inherently and rampantly sexual story. All 'stalking in the woods' and 'straying from the path' and whatnot. "Go through the woods and try not to let anything see you", "Oh, I'll just put on my bright red cloak" ::eyeroll:: Whatever, Little Red.

Suffice it to say, a lot of my pairings fit the Little Red mould. Or can be made to >:) Wolf/Little Red Riding Hood = archetypal OTP!

:) He really is so great. All computer games and cigars and whatnot. It would have been interesting to see what their relationship was like without Yegor in the middle. That's a bit of a problem for me. Is he Anton's son in the book?

Rawr again! You fit that metaphor so beautifully to the characters. Ooh, I could just shiver over Anton and his darker nature. "Considered capable of killing". All the denial in the world won't help you, boy.

*flails a little* LOL. Nicely done with this.

;) Thanks. The more I thought about it (whether I wanted to or not - damn you, plotbunnies!), the more the metaphor seemed to fit all by itself. To my intense delight.

Anton so blatantly the Light Side's 'hound dog'/assassin-in-waiting. For situations like Svetlana and such. Denial not just a river in Egypt, no.

very cool! I love the tenseness and the feeling of Anton walking such a fine line

Thanks! I think Anton is walking a fairly fine line, and we'll see more of it in the films to come ;)

yeah, it's part of what i'm really looking forward to about the stories - it doesn't seem at all to be black and white. as my SO pointed out, there's really not much difference between the daywatch and the nightwatch...
