Sorry I forgot to post the re-run notice before now, folks. The Tour de France has started and I got really distracted watching it this morning. No one really seems to do the re-runs on the weekend, anyway, but oh well.

Today's Re-Run:

I was wondering where this was...I'm late as usual, but I intend to do tomorrow's rerun as well, since I screwed up the beginning of the week.

Also, I was wondering what you would think of possibly adding tags to the entries? I went looking for episodes last week, and since they weren't all done on the same date, it took a bit of hunting, so I was thinking that if we put the title and episode number of each entry in tags that the episodes might be easier to come back to later. I know you're busy, so if you'd like, I'd be glad to do that for you - if you're interested, that is.

Tags for the episodes is a good idea. I think only the maintainer of the comm can add tags, but once they're added anyone can use them.

I've got a lot to do in the next few days, but I'll add the tags when I can. After that I might ask people to tag their own entries. When I get all the tags added, I'll post to the comm.

Nah. All you have to do is go to tags management, switch journals to work on ncis_nostalgia's tags then adjust the tag settings at the bottom of the page. I have smutday set so that any member can not only use existing tags but can add new ones if needed. I have to admit, that I've adjusted tags after the fact when a member used tags I didn't want, or think were appropriate, but hey - I 'm a moderator, I'm allowed, right ( ... )

Ahhh! Thank you for the info on tags management. I had no idea I could do that.

I decided to leave tag creation restricted to maintainers and added you as a maintainer so that you can tag stuff for me, if you're still willing. :-) Members can use tags once they are created, although I may change that if I see people using tags inaccurately.

Your plan for adding tags--both episode name tags and content tags--sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye on things and let you know if I don't like any of 'em.

Also, I think the idea of your random polls sounds like a lot of fun! I know there are folks on the comm who are watching but not posting, and stuff that helps them feel involved is always good.

For that matter, I'd be glad to be on the reserve list, in case you weren't going to be available to make an episode post or something like that.

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'm going to keep all the responsibility on my own shoulders. If I know there's no one who's supposed to be backing me up, I'm better at not missing days. *g*

I have to admit, I flinched really hard over Kate's cover. It's one of those things that you just do, you know? Cover's off inside a building, on outside, and you never leave it behind. Was one of the first things we learned at the naval academy, and it's something that stands out as being incorrect behavior to anyone w/ military background, at least US military. Was so glad Gibbs ragged her on that one, even though I do understand that if you've never kicked around the military you wouldn't realize it was a big deal.

Heh, reminds me of an entire scene of SG-1, which they had to redo. At the Air Force Academy, with a ton of extras. The director had thought people walking around with their covers on looked cool, so they shot the scene. Their Air Force liaison disagreed, so back went all the extras for a re-shoot of the scene - this time without their covers.

An excellent example that you can actually learn stuff from commentaries... at least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. ;-)

Yeah, I can see that being an issue - like I mentioned before, I spent some time at the US Naval Academy. One of the first things you learn (aside from "Eyes on the Boat") is that your cover goes everywhere with you, and it's off indoors, on outside. Period. No exceptions. That would have thrown SG-1's credibility for a bit further of a loop than normal, and since they'd received USAF sanction, they need to stick to the regs whenever possible.

Very true; you can learn amazing amounts by listening to the commentaries. It just sucks away hours of your life ^_^ I only do it on eps I already like, I just never have the time to invest to watch them all...
