Sorry I forgot to post the re-run notice before now, folks. The Tour de France has started and I got really distracted watching it this morning. No one really seems to do the re-runs on the weekend, anyway, but oh well.
Today's Re-Run:
Ep 1x13: One Shot, One KillAnd remember, if you are inspired to write fic, create icons, or muse on S1 and S2

Nah. All you have to do is go to tags management, switch journals to work on ncis_nostalgia's tags then adjust the tag settings at the bottom of the page. I have smutday set so that any member can not only use existing tags but can add new ones if needed. I have to admit, that I've adjusted tags after the fact when a member used tags I didn't want, or think were appropriate, but hey - I 'm a moderator, I'm allowed, right?
Of course, if you would prefer no one but yourself have the ability to create tags, that's your choice - it just depends on how much freedom you want us peons to have. If you'd rather keep the control, you could make me a moderator temporarily - just long enough to tag the posts that have already been made, and to make tags for the rest of the episodes. I was also thinking of the possibility of tags for icons, meta, fic, episode notices, and possibly one for polls that weren't in your episode notices since I was thinking of maybe making a few polls at some point just for fun. (You know, silly stuff like which of Tony's hairstyles do you like best? Or whether or not you think the red head is a friend, ex-wife, current flame or relative.) Then after I was through, you could take me off the moderator list.
For that matter, I'd be glad to be on the reserve list, in case you weren't going to be available to make an episode post or something like that. You'd just have to show me how to put the cups of coffee on the polls. To be honest, I've been thinking about asking you about that anyway...that's way cool, and I'd love to learn how that's done - I'd use it on some of my Smutday polls.
Anyway - my point is (finally), I'll be glad to help if you want/need any...so let me know if you're interested. If not, that's cool, too.

I decided to leave tag creation restricted to maintainers and added you as a maintainer so that you can tag stuff for me, if you're still willing. :-) Members can use tags once they are created, although I may change that if I see people using tags inaccurately.
Your plan for adding tags--both episode name tags and content tags--sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye on things and let you know if I don't like any of 'em.
Also, I think the idea of your random polls sounds like a lot of fun! I know there are folks on the comm who are watching but not posting, and stuff that helps them feel involved is always good.

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'm going to keep all the responsibility on my own shoulders. If I know there's no one who's supposed to be backing me up, I'm better at not missing days. *g*

All you have to do is enter an image tag in the text box for the poll answers. I keep the coffee cup images in my photobucket account and use the same URLs for all the polls. (I figure bandwidth isn't an issue with reusing them because once a poll is about a week old, no one looks at it anymore, so they images don't have to be loaded up again.) The only constraint is that you can only put a certain number of characters into an LJ poll question. So you have to keep the image tag as short as possible--no size adjustments or alt attributes.
Thanks so much for the help!

So I got started tonight on the tags. I tagged everything for the last couple of weeks, and set up episode tags for the next week, but I didn't finish everything, since I wanted you to have a chance to see them before I did. This way, if you don't like anything, it's not as much trouble to fix than if I did everything at once.
I decided to divide the meta category up into people and then one general category, since that's how we've done it so far...Gibbs' wives, Tony's work history. So right now it looks like this: "meta - Gibbs", "meta - General" but without the quotes. If you'd rather just have one category for meta, I can take out the rest and just leave "meta" for everything.
I started to just list the episodes, but then I realized that would be confusing as hell, since they'd be alphabetical, rather than sequential, so I went with season, episode and name: "1x01 - Yankee White". The dash is optional, I couldn't decide if I liked that or if I preferred just "1x01 Yankee White" instead. What do you think? Does it matter? Am I being too anal again? (It's a bad habit.)
I labeled the posts you put up announcing the episode "episode notices" but I don't really like that. I just couldn't decide on anything I liked better. I figured they should have a separate label because they're the ones with the episode polls in them, and there may be a reason for people to look them up. For that reason, I labeled the "re-run notices" differently, since they don't have polls in them. I almost didn't label the re-run notices at all. That's an option, as well, of course.
Other than the ones I've already mentioned, the only other tags I've made are "icons," "quotes," and "polls." Let me know if there's anything else you want me to add.
So, take a look, and see what you think. I'll finish them up once you've had a chance to look them over.
Oh, and thanks for the info on how to add images to polls. I can't wait to try it out. *g*

The meta tags also look good. I like splitting them up. If it becomes an issue in the future we can fix it then, but I don't expect it to.

I agree they ought to have a separate label because of the polls. If you don't like "episode notices", what about "episode kick offs"? That's what I call them. *shrugs*
Thanks so much for doing this! :-)
