Horsie! Gibbs on a horsie! As usual I am ridiculously shallow and willing to overlook much in favour of the pretty. But actually, I enjoyed it. Though the horsie helped *g*

I absolutely do not get Macy's death - ok, I get it in so far as the Gibbs/Mexico link but it's a little too convenient that the rape victim's ship happened to come back to the US, happened to come back at just the right time and that Macy happened to be investingating and willing to follow her back home. Am I missing the bleedin' obvious somewhere? Even if the rape was somehow set up there was no way to know Macy would follow the victim back to the States *scratches head* Is it supposed to be one of those things the audience just handwaves away ( ... )

*iz proudly shallow* Seriously, stick a pretty guy on a pretty pony and I'm happy. Also the American style of riding is so much hotter more relaxed to look at than ours. Let's just say it pushes an awful lot of buttons.... :D

I like generale_kenobi 's theory of using Macy's investigation as a crime of opportunity, but it's still far too convenient for words. I don't mind handwaving on occasion but I object to it if the writers actually have that in mind all along. Lazy.

I suppose the title should have given it away a little; ELL going on about Bell being a 'patriot' = Patriot Down. Though I was assuming that referred to Macy all the way through. Franks will be in it next week though, yes?

That scene in interrogation was fascinating for Vance's non-reaction. He *must* know something, surely?

I'm still nervous over next week - mainly because I don't want them to screw my show up any more than they already have *g* But I admit I am intrigued, far more than i though I would be.

Yeah, the only thing I really took from this episode was Gibbs on a horse in Mexico whilst Johnny Cash plays in the background.

I knew who Macy was but I had totally forgotten what she did (I was a little distracted by Tim having geek-gasms and being completely and utterly adorable.)

What is it with Robert Patrick? I keep expecting him to be the big bad or having a big part and then he gets himself killed. I really don't have a clue what's going on right now.

Also, how the hell is Gibbs able to call Mexico from inside the elevator? Because I'm a crazy McGee fan, I'm gonna say Gibbs made him retask a satellite just to give him crazy awesome reception.

Gibbs/Ducky really was the pairing of the episode. I love Ducky and it must be so frustrating when Gibbs doesn't TALK to him, but he has his reasons.

I'm still sleep-deprived so, that's all my thoughts on the episode. Pretty much Gibbs + Mexico + Horse + Johnny Cash = Awesome!

*Grins* Gibbs on horseback is good. Johnny Cash is very good.

*Grins* I can totally understand your distraction.

*Googles Robert Patrick* (I am THE world's worst for knowing actors and recognising them - just ask plutos_revenge. Well I admit I was stunned; that was the bit that really surprised me to find Bell dead! Bell was the 'big bad', but apparently only the little bad *g*

Gibbs has all kinds of magic powers that allow him to do things like that *nods* But I like your idea very much indeed.

It was indeed. Poor Ducky for Gibbs to do that to him - and he does.

Tell me about sleep deprivation. Zzzzzzzzz. I love how you sum up the episode. BTW, I friended you recently, as we have things in common.

Gibbs on horse is awesome.

When Cash started playing in the background, my DH said, "Oh, this can't end well."

He is, very much so.

Your DH is perceptive!

I heard Richard Burgi aka Jim Ellison from The Sentinel guest starred. I'll watch on the dvr tonight, but how was his part? Just curious... I generally dislike two part ending episodes. They tend to be boring overall, but I'll watch and FF if I must.

Thanks!

*Bounces up and down* I actually tied in the name of the actor with a previous character he played - and trust me that is one in a zillion chance for me. (But I didn't actually recognise him on screen, so that takes away some of the achievement, but to recognise an actor's name is excellent for me *g* - I must tell plutos_revenge).

It wasn't a big part, but he was fairly menacing and loud mouthed, but he worked well. I really do feel that there was too much padding and too much - get on with it. I expected more after last week's.

You're welcome.

I've noticed how much the guest stars are underused. I know Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky) did a guest spot on both Numb3rs and The Mentalist recently and his screen time on both shows didn't amount to five minutes. Makes me wonder why they bother sometimes.

I don't know how it works in the US, but I know here in the UK there are shows whereby guest stars (often 'older' actors/actresses) are queuing up to go on, no matter how small the part as the show has a reputation of being a great place to be.

And yay, I know someone else *g* Starsky & Hutch was my first fandom.

The acting rocked. The last 5 minutes of the episode saved the whole hour for me. But, I was like you, thinking, just get on with it already.

Indeed it did, in particular MH and DMc.

*Nods* Yep, that sums it up perfectly - see you said it so much more succinctly than I did *g* After last week's ep, I was expecting resolution, not a dragged out thing.

The killing Ari revelation was indeed more shocking than the rest. Even Jenny's death wasn't a huge shock, because we knew before hand someone was going to die and we knew who wasn't returning - thus 2+2 time.

Ditto Gibbs leaving in Hiatus as we MH would be back, and with Ziva we knew CdeP would be back - that's part of the problem, we know so much that it's a rare thing that can shock - like the ending to this episode; that was a surprise/shock even.

Gibbs leaving, unless he really, truly leaves isn't going to shock anyone. He can't stand trial because of the statue of limitations, unless it's some kind of 'kangaroo court that H's daughter et al puts him through. Or he somehow kills someone else/they set him up for killing someone else - ooh, Bell. Now then he could stand trial for that murder.

You be careful crossing the fingers of your right hand *g*
