AUTHOR'S NOTES: And now for something different. My head is full of research, aided greatly by this fantastic website, kudos to the people who run it. Transcribing from microfiche is painstaking work at times. Some of the stories were so interesting and the language so wonderful that I left the original excerpts almost untouched, so some of this is directly quoted and not mine at all. The years I have been studying are 1839-1845.
DISCLAIMER: I don't own these characters, nor am I making any money from them. Just borrowing.
