Discussion: Why doesn't Miles have an M tattoo (or does he?)

Dec 02, 2012 10:50

So now that we know that the M stands for both Miles and Monroe and is their promise of eternal love... Why did Monroe get an M tattoo (with his name as well) and (according to the footnotes) Miles didn't? Now we know Miles doesn't have one on his forearm and maybe the footnotes are wrong (they were wrong about Wheatley, but I hope they're right ( Read more... )

I have another idea: Miles had a tattoo, but he got it removed when he and Monroe had their epic fallout just like Johnny Depp and his "Wino Forever" tat, only instead of just covering it up, he had that thing taken off completely.

Without electricity, how do you remove a tattoo? Besides burning the skin, which would leave a nasty charred scar.

For the sake of my Charlie/Miles story, he's got the tattoo right over his heart. So far we've only seen his shoulder (1x01) and his forearms but not his chest, so... :D

HA. SCARY.

When I was writing my comment (at almost the exact moment you were) I thinking over his heart!

PS: Is this a new story? Are you posting it soon? ...or was I not paying enough attention in your last one?

I KNOW! O_o

Yes. Apparently, people were so impressed by my 'Burning Deep Inside My Veins' story, they wanted more chapters and thus I'm trying to stretch what was supposed to be a one-shot into a multi.chaptered thing of gracious UST. xD

*giggles*

I think I'm going to like this 4mths of spec - if it only takes 4 days for us to start to question everything we know \o/

- - -

Right...well personally, I hope he does have a tat somewhere. It'd only be fair.

Monroe, I believe, is a follower - Miles's shadow - so he got the tat first, obviously (just imagine Miles's face when he first saw it...). Because Miles is family, Miles is everything, and being Miles's brother - his best friend - is his identity. It means more than anything to him.

Miles on the other-hand is probably less emotional about the whole thing - or was pre-blackout - and he's not the type to get a tattoo to represent his eternal friendship-love thing with Bass. They are what they are. No need for something showy ( ... )

...of course AFTER the blackout I can see him getting one done.

Me too! I'd love it if the footnotes got it wrong and he has it somewhere (I'd say back is a good bet, but you'd think he'd get it where Monroe got his for symbolism). I can definitely see his bond with Monroe getting stronger and more co-dependant after the blackout (especially if things soured with Ben) and Miles getting it then.

OMG. YES. THIS WOULD BE WONDERFUL. Let it be bet related.

I know right? The whole thing started as a stupid bet and LOOK AT THEM ALL NOW! A symbol of their friendship, a stupid bet and a mark for all the Militia.

Be a nice reason for him to take off a few layers in a flashback.

Billy needs to take off his shirt, for plot reasons. He didn't even take it off when Maggie was stitching him up! Come on man, both Neville and Monroe were shirtless, be a good ex-Militia and take it off so we can look for a tattoo.
I'd also lol if he's afraid of needles - but he did ( ... )

I don't know or have any idea about the tattoo but Nora cannot possibly be 35 nor 27. She looked about 15 in her flashbacks so +15 years that makes her 30. She looked older than 12 but certainly younger than 20. I would say Nora is 30-31.

Having said that, I wouldn't pass the writers to be inconsistent and ignore how old she looked just after the blackout.

I like your Monroe was drunk/Miles was sober theory.

What I'm annoyed about is that Charlie's M scar has yet the be brought up again. Seriously, people? The angst of it? Charlie is branded by the entity that killed her father. And the look on Miles' face when he saw it? You could tell he would have done ANYTHING to go back in time and make sure she didn't get it.

THIS!!! That has been driving me crazy too!!! I sincerely hope they bring it up again!!

I would be really disappointed with the show if they just completely dropped it and pretended she never got scarred.

I KNOW.

Maybe they're saving it up so Rachel can have a massive hissy fit over it during Ep 11 or something?

STILL, because they didn't use it in ep 10 - and Monroe and cohorts have no idea she has it - Charlie can use it at another opportunity, because no one will be looking for a girl with the Milita tat. She can use it to 'prove' her loyalty and get somewhere she shouldn't. (I would die for a scene that mirrored Monroe's reveal of his tat)

Oh PLEASE let Miles NOT have a tattoo anywhere. I recognize this is my own personal bias showing here, but I loathe, despise, detest, and hate the things. I've never understood why people would want to permanently disfigure themselves with one, but, as I said, that's my own personal bias, and people want to get them, it's entirely their right to do so ( ... )
