Ok, Rachel is kinda winning me over. I was being cautious (who is this woman who would abandon my fav character?!), but she's so bloody interesting...and her scenes with Bass are always so tense and they keep. getting. better. And I don't want to ship them, I don't, but...I'm a shipper and there's only so long that I can ( Read more... )

The impression I get from Rachel and Monroe's interactions is that it's one of those things where he's been hung up on her for years and she was either never interested or any relationship they had was very brief (I've half-pegged him as actually being Charlie's biological father since ep 2) but as he got warped his feelings did too but she knows how manage him to a degree and uses it. So I'm very on board with "Bass has A Thing that's messed up and she uses it" but would run in terror if they actually went there in the present ( ... )

I get that impression too. And lol, I'd rather he be Danny's bio dad - and David Lyons is only in his late 30s, if Monroe is (21/22/23 y.o) Charlie's dad he was very young at the time - to make Danny more interesting and complicated and get him into the MilitaAnd I love how he menaces Rachel but he doesn't physically do anything (okay, occasional brushes and breath-on-neck stuff...but still) - it's like she's been a part of the furniture so long (like, srsly WHY DO PEOPLE THINK SHE LIVES THERE? DO THEY KNOW ( ... )

I wonder how many people actually know about Rachel. I mean, obviously, there are guards, but do most people just think Monroe has an agoraphobic mistress? I think Monroe and Miles are supposed to be fairly close in age, but who knows.

I'm not sure I can really compare Rachel and Maggie that way myself. I mean, I get it, but Maggie was alone and trying to find a way to get to the other side of the world, while Rachel had her kids (and Ben) in front of her who needed protection, so they had completely different options.

Charlie really does have very Danny-centric tunnel vision. Unless you actually dump someone who needs help in her path, her world seems to be divided into "can help me find/save Danny" and "can't help me find/save Danny" and she sticks after the first with a determination and redefines "bulldoggedly stubborn."

*laughs and nods*

Someone really needs to fict pov's from those around all these scenes involving the main characters and dramatic moments; the milita heading home with Danny (some random kid, instead of their actual target); the (doomed) milita heading in to catch THE Miles Matheson; Jeremy's men talking amongst themselves about his leadership; the milita guards keeping an eye on Rachel, leading her to and from Bass...etc.

I'm sure there's plenty of rumors about her...but at the same time I'm sure Monroe doesn't doesn't encourage it, and definitely doesn't tell everyone he knows that there are people who might be able to get the power back, and that oh, yeh - he may just have one living in his attic...

True, but I still see Rachel being so close ( ... )

I love anything with Bass and Rachel. The tension whenever they are near each other is out of control.

Me too. It may be unhealthy and all but Revolution has the tendency to corrupt us with those things.

(Plus they could power everything up with that tension.)

That's true. The chemistry between people who shouldn't have chemistry (Miles/Charlie, Bass/Rachel) is all over the place.

No one's emotionally well off in this series, and I love it.

(We had the power go out - it was very ironic and I had to lol - a few days ago for two hours, and most of that time I watched TV on my macbook with an eye on the battery life feeling VERY VERY grateful that I knew the power outage wouldn't last fifteen years...YEARS without my ipod and computer (and the INTERNET OMG) and I would be able to power everything with tension, all on my lonesome)

God, Bass just gives me all the feels in this. Like whoa. His eyes are all intense and slightly insane b/c he's been half mad since Miles left and he's just so damn calm about, well, everything. Which just makes it creepier and makes him the scarier one, but also makes me want to sit and weep quietly in the corner b/c it's just so sad for him and you almost want to not feel bad for him b/c he's the "baddie", but he's not, well, not really, maybe, IDEK anymore.

But, enough about all that. My thing with Rachel that I can't quite figure out is that she turned herself in to Miles, not Bass which makes sense in my head canon where Miles is really the one in charge and Bass just goes along but then when he leaves, he doesn't take her with him. I get the whole, let me sneak off into the night thing that Miles is going for, but really? You just leave her there? And, okay, maybe he does b/c he knows there's no way they'll both make it and maybe he think she's better off there b/c obviously Bass treats her well, etc. But, it just seems too ( ... )

NGL, I kinda love the Bass-Rachel scenes, even if I totally ship Bass/Miles. Monroe has this creepy crush on her and she's a survivor and will do anything to protect her family, but I bet she can be manipulative as well as tough... It just does things to me. I bet he's had a crush on her since before the blackout, but it was always "my BFF's sister-in-law, happily married, never gonna happen" and now he's got her alone for years, after she (he thinks) just abandons her family, her husband is dead now and he's the leader of the freaking Republic...

I think Charlie was about 10-11 in the flashback when Rachel left, meaning it was about 9-10 years ago. I think in an interview EM said Rachel has been Monroe's captive for 3-4 years. I wonder what happened during those 5-6 years in between- what did Miles want with her (did Monroe know about it?) and how did she end up with Monroe? Did Miles abandon her and does he even know Monroe has her?

I want some answers show! Hopefully before the 4 month Hiatus of hell.

OMG That's such a good question. I do wonder if Bass even knew she "turned herself in" to Miles. I could totally see the situation where Bass didn't know. Maybe Miles held her captive, then when he left, Bass found her...or, IDK. I wonder how much Miles does know because there's that odd line where Miles claims what happened to Charlie's mother wasn't his fault...but, what is he talking about?

IKR. He didn't say dead. Specifically avoided it. And he called her away from Ben, Charlie & Danny...and that's all we know *cries* ...this show has so many secrets.

But, did Ben KNOW that would be the last he saw of her? And was it? Did he ever sneak out and try and rescue her (he seems like the type)? Was it a trade? Ben or Rachel? I can't picture Miles holding Rachel captive, coz like - why? But I'm sure this Show could come up with some angsty reasons XD

That's what I thought! Or maybe in that clip she could pass for 12...but nothing like 18ish which would cover the four year gap that EM mentioned. So that quote never made any sense to me - but if there was time between Miles turning her over/abandoning her to Monroe and her present situation....THAT'S TERRIBLY INTERESTING ( ... )
