Now i just want to compare notes with you. I try to see all the big 8 Oscar movies but I haven't gotten around to seeing Zero-Dark-Thirty or Silver Linings, yet. Did see Argo though, and I liked it alot although I question Alan Arkin's nomination as amusing as his performance was if they were going to nominate a supporting actor for that I would have gone Bryan Cranson, he was far more understated. Feel bad that Ben didn't get a director nod.
Yeah, I also agree with you about Alan Arkin's nomination. Bryan was more of a supporting actor than him but it seems like all nominations are weird this year. I honestly expected him to get one because even though this is his 3rd movie or something he was good.
Not yet, but I've heard Lincoln is pretty boring. To be honest I think Lincoln wouldn't appeal to non americans that much
I think it's kinda because of who is is rather than the performance.
I liked Lincoln because all the performances were really strong. Even to Americans I think some of the subject matter could be construed as dry but I thought it was a handsome looking movie.
Don't see Beasts of the Southern Wilds. It's painfully slow and woefully overpraised.
