the P4 is no longer the latest processor - the "core duo" now incorporates 2 dual processors on one chip. unless the reason for having 2GHz repeated is that u hav 2 CPUs?

Can you get the info from the bios?

If you have 2GB RAM installed, and now you have 768MB, means that you other RAMs are spoilt

Yes its from windows system info. I think one of my ram may have failed too . when I hav the time will do a more thougrough investigation. Thanks

Pentium 4 is fast enough for most of the application required now...
Just get more ram would do unless you are aiming for a super high performance computer to do video editing and such,

If it's just for normal work and photo editing, current system with more ram would do just fine
