Barky-bark.

The neighbors' dog is loose again.

I was sitting here at my desk, and I heard barking. I looked out the window, and sure enough, there was the little dog. Loose. Again.

The first time he got away, he ran around the backyard for a bit before he settled in on trying to jump on the boys. I took him back after just a few minutes, and I was later ( Read more... )

snark, neighbors

Can you be very evil and call security? I am sure your base has the same rules as our base, no running dogs.

A couple of dings from security might make them either move out or give the dog away to more responsible owners.

I think they might wonder why I hadn't returned the dog, though, especially since I *do* know where he belongs.

I've just decided to let him run. They don't want me returning him, so I'm just going to let him go.

Just tell them that the owners of the dog get upset with you when you return the dog and the only reason you are calling security is to prevent the dog from getting hurt, etc. You could play dumb and say that you aren't sure where the dogs live.

The neighbors themselves "play dumb" enough as it is... no, wait! They just *ARE* dumb. However, I'm sure security forces would come out if I said that I was afraid the dog would get hurt - which I kind of am, actually. I mean, my kids shouldn't have to see a doggy go *SPLAT!* just yet.

I feel sorry for the dog -- they obviously don't care about it if it keeps getting loose and they've not done anything about it.

The best/worst part? This third (especially this one, since the dog was missing for over 10 minutes) and fourth times? They hadn't even noticed.

Don't you just love rude neighbors? Hopefully the dog won't get hit by a car or worse, bite a child (or anyone for that matter) :o/ Rude rude people in this world!!

Being that he's just a little dachshund, his bark would definitely be worse than his bite. Still, his tiny size just makes him that much easier to be run over by a car.

dont underestimate a dachsund. Hannah was bit in the face by one before she was a year old. they are actually very skittish dogs.

Call and say that you are afraid of dogs and they got mad when your friend (annie) returned it the last time.

Well, I'm not afraid of this little dog. (Even the boys didn't care these last two times.) And they didn't get mad when Annie returned him - just when I did. When Annie returned him, they acted all sickeningly sweet - which is hilarious, since Annie's the one most likely to call the cops. :-D
