Bicarb of Soda Uses

Jul 18, 2012 13:38

I have acquired a large, heavy bag of bicarbate of soda/Sodium bicarbonate/cooking soda/baking soda. So far a mug of it in the fridge hasn't helped much with smells and apart from that I use once a day to clean my face.

What are people's favourite uses of this as I have lots to use!

Freshening sinks/plugholes. Put some down the plughole (you can mix with salt too if you want for a bit more abrasion), along with some vinegar, once the fizzing has died down, pour boiling water down the plughole to flush it through.

my favourite:

brushing teeth
deodorant
cleaning the oven
washing hair
removing marks off walls
wash fruit and veggies before eating/cooking
removing stains on clothes, especially oily ones
drain cleaner
soak dried beans in bicarb with water, makes them easier to digest

(i use bicarb for basically everything lol)

Here's a grand list of uses (51 to be exact). Though, I still only use it for whitening my teeth every blue moon.

Baking Soda is great for SO many things.
Some of my favorite ways to use is would include using a little bit for shampoo. I also do a deep clean with it for my dreadlocks.
I brush my teeth with it every once in awhile to remove coffee stains. And I use it to deodorize my carpet.
