I have been making an effort with the water and probably should up my consumption more. Thanks for the reminder :)

I haven't done acupuncture specifically for my PMS, but when I've gone for other things (injured hip which still gives me pain over a year later) and had PMS symptoms flaring, I've had practitioners mention that there are some points which help a lot, and they have definitely brought me relief. Totally worth checking into.

There are some fabulous herbs for the anxiety, too. My "daily" blend is motherwort and lemon balm, and for when things get really bad I use a blend of valerian, kava, and passion flower.

Nettles can help with the bloating, and vitex (chaste tree berry) can help smooth out the hormones.

(I use these all in tincture form, personally)

Thanks, I'll read about the herbs you mention. I take stinging nettles for allergies but only during spring/summer.

It has worked well for me, but IME it has to be done beforehand, not when you already have the PMS.

All of those other things you are doing are good too. Have you also considered Omega 3s, possibly in the form of evening primrose oil? Those can actually help with hormone fluctuations as well.

I take fish oil capsules and borage oil capsules. I'll read abut the evening primrose.

How many sessions did it take before you felt better? How often do you do it? I am investigating the pricing and it is something I can afford once or twice a month but will have to do some serious budgeting if I need to go more frequently.

You're probably getting enough in the way of Omega 3s then, though some women find that EPO has additional benefits.

I don't have horrible PMS anymore, but I would say I saw an improvement right away. For PMS, I don't think you'd need to go more than once a month, and that may not be forever anyway. My acupuncturists wants me to come in about a week before I'm due for PMS/period related issues.

I've been seeing an accupuncturist for a while now. It's definitely eased my PMS. Have you tried Rescue Remedy pastilles? Those help me take the edge off. Also, reiki self-treatments have worked wonders.

I find the black current ones work better for my anxious/stressed out moments- I think it's because I like the taste. :) They're just Rescue Remedy in a different form, but I don't like carrying glass in my purse so I'd rather bring them along than a bottle of the stuff.

Acupuncture has been a life-saver for me as far as PMS, anxiety, and about a million other things. I used to get debilitating cramps that would leave me on the floor miserable, and I haven't had one like that since beginning treatment. I also have been an overly anxious person my entire life, and have some OCD type tendencies, and it has helped me a bit with the OCD but has really helped the anxiety (that and talk therapy). Sounds like you're already doing some really great things (the B complex helps me a lot too, as does yoga) but I'd definitely try acupuncture. I work for a community acupuncture clinic (full disclosure :) and I see it help a LOT of people. Go to www.communityacupuncturenetwork.org to find a low cost clinic near you, if you're interested!

Thanks a lot for the link; those prices sound very doable.

No problem! Yeah, were it not for community acupuncture I never would have gotten to do it (most acupuncture is pricey!) I was a patient before I began working for a clinic :)
