I thought there might be several people here who would want to know:

The recalled eggs were distributed to Costco and Safeway in Northern California, as far South as Fresno, and in western Nevada.

Thanks for the alert. Those are the eggs we normally get and that's our area. Fortunately this time around we got eggs at TJ's instead.

Thanks for the heads up. I don't have any from that farm right now, but easily could have...

Another reason I enjoy buying locally. :-D

Is it just me or has the amount of foodbourne illness in packaged, widely-distributed products just gone crazy lately?
At least this is actually eggs and not stuff we all _thought_ was safe, like freakin' tomatoes.....

It's so scary just how mixed together products are these days... and shipped all over.... so that you have tonnes and tonnes and tonnes of peanut products that have to be recalled across the whole country ... because just one batch of peanut butter ended up in SO much stuff?

It's so crazy.

If you only knew...

I signed up several months ago to get all of the recall alerts from the FDA. There are at lest fifteen in my inbox every morning, sometimes as many as fifty a day. Crazy times.

At their website. You can choose which alerts you want to get. They have food alerts, vaccine alerts, etc. I signed up for the ones that affect me most.

http://www.fda.gov/opacom/7alerts.html

Here is their page of recalls. There is a link at the very top middle of the page where you can sign up for email alerts.
