Crystal!

It sounds bizarre and hokey but it works SO WELL.

I have no idea how they work - my boyfriend's mom (who is a homeopath) introduced us to them - and we were VERY skeptical - but figured it's only like an investment of $3 and one day of stink to figure out of it works.

And it works. Less sweat, zero stink. I don't know how but it's great. And they last a looong time.

It's made of a type of mineral salt that forms a layer on your skin that keeps bacteria from growing. For that reason, it's best to use it right after you get out of the shower. And I find that you have to put on a lot more than you think is enough. You don't put it on in a couple of swipes like you would commercial antiperspirants, you have to go over the area a few times. Load it on (it doesn't actually get goopy or anything, so you can't put on too much). When you think it's enough, keep going. Then, when you think you've put on way too much, it's probably enough XD
You have to be really careful if you shave in the shower, though, because it will sting like a mofo if you nick yourself and then put on the crystal deodorant.

i loved oyin's funk butter :) it kind of sucks putting it on with your fingers but you get used to it. it worked even in the louisiana heat, living at a camp all summer.

This is what I use that was suggested on this site and I really like it. I even got my husband to use the unscented.

I started using this about a year ago after reading this community. I find that it doesn't make me sweat any less, but I don't smell at all. I now feel totally fine wearing my shirts multiple days - realized before it wasn't bo that bothered me, but scents from the conventional deodorant.

i use the deodorant crystal; it DOES take some time to get used to. also, i did use the jason roll-on; which made my armpit skin peel off. also, the kiss my face liquid rock made me smelll AWFUL. i used the weleda on occasion, but mainly cause i liked the smell.

what i do:
deo crystal - apply WET to clean skin. if in a hurry, i dry it a bit with the hair dryer on cool. i then brush on a bit of baking soda mixed with cornstarch (about 1/2 & 1/2 - i keep it in a little tupperware and apply with an old makeup brush). keeps me going ALL day.

i also tried oyin's funk butter. i LOVE the smell, and it worked great, but got to be a pain in the ass to apply.

I use the crystal alone, and I can go 3 days easily without smelling, even in the hot, humid summer.
