sigg bottles in sunlight

i went away on vacation for 3 weeks, and meanwhile, my mom stuck my sigg bottle on a windowsill. it's sunny practically everyday here, and that specific window (of course) gets a lot of sunlight. i cleaned the bottle out with dishsoap, and it left this slightly chemical smell. not burning rubber or anything, but more like something very clean. The only thing I can think of is that the sun heated it enough for you to be able to smell the aluminum. I wouldn't think it's a problem though.

The sunlight/heat probably didn't harm it, but I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use dishsoap in them (or maybe I'm thinking dishwasher detergent?). They have special Sigg-cleaning tablets they recommend.

It's probably fine, although it might taste funny for a while. :)
