Tips for quitting tobacco anyone?

I eat well enough, hardly ever drink alcohol, and am an occasional coffee drinker but I still smoke like an effing chimney. I would like to eliminate the drug nicotine from my life.
Tinctures, vitamins, methods (ex:master cleanse), distractions are all welcome.

Please help.

Don't smoke that one cigarette that you want.

Also, avoid places where there's smoke and people who smoke. I ate sunflower seeds, chewed on licorice roots, and got acupuncture too. I quit 14 years ago and am so glad that I did. I don't recommend those nicotine patches. You need to get the nicotine out of your system asap to get rid of the physical craving.

Ditto on the breaking routines. My mother had to stop all the habits she associated with smoking in order to quit smoking. Ex: she always had a cigarette with her coffee and she'd always get a craving if she tried to drink coffee. So she had to switch to tea for awhile. I also agree with the people below who said cold turkey is the best way to go.

Can you tell me more about what she put you on?...I've got a feeling that I might need to perscribe myself a dose of tough love to kick this habit...
