It will get better. Postpartum is just a tremendously stinky time. try quick sink baths of the offending parts throughout the day. And CONGRATULATIONS!!!

PS I found lavender eo daubed in my armpits helped quite a bit..

Well it's good to know it's not just me! I love the smell of lavender, I'll have to try that.

Thanks!

Wash armpits as you normally would, swab with witch hazel or alcohol (stings if you've just shaved though) then apply a paste of baking soda and water. No exact measurements, just wet the baking soda enough to rub your hand together then rub onto and around each pit.

That might help a bit more than what you're using. I have unbelievably strong underarm odor (even the strongest anti-perspirants only helped for a few hours), then I tried this at the suggestion of a friend. It's worked wonders for me, and you can reapply as often as necessary, completely natural. I find I can actually put it on one morning, say Friday, and not *need* to reapply till Sunday morning. ('Course my b/f likes a little bit of "essence" shall we say. - and really, it's just a little bit that breaks through by the end of the second day. And I sweat a lot.)

Good luck.

Just regular rubbing alcohol, like you'd put on an insect bite, or clean a cut with ... isopropyl is what I think it's called.

I was uber-smelly post-partum too. It does get better - I promise :) I second the suggestion of the sink baths or better yet, see if you can get a couple of baths or showers in a day - it's very healing to bathe during the post-partum time.

Oh, I am so in love with my shower. It feels so great on my sore back, my engorged breasts, the crick in my neck, etc etc etc!

Glad to know it's not just me with the smelling problem!

Ive been using one of the crystals, and havent had a problem with it, can go a couple of days if I forget to apply, and still be safe :)

I use Tom's as well, for days when I want to smell nice as well as not stink, heh!

I will say (after a bout of dehydration recently during a sickness) I started to smell a bit "sour"...found out that was a symptom of the dehydration. If you are nursing, your hydration levels may not be as high as needed, so, try drinking some extra fluids throughout the day, see if that helps.

and...a note...my husbands smells like onions under his pits (which normally do not smell bad) if he eats a lot of...you guessed it! - onions :)

Ah, more water. That's a good point. I'm supposed to be drinking a ton anyway but I find it's one of those things where you can never have enough. Thanks!

I've been overly sensitive to conventional products lately, so I've been using tea tree oil- I purchased a 20% solution in alcohol. It's been far more effective, and nicer to my skin.

I have some face cleansing pads that are tea tree oil and witch hazel...maybe I'll try one of those. I discontinued using them on my face because they were too strong so it'll be nice to use them up on something else.
