I'm not on Tumblr - and I only follow DW if someone cross-posts to Lj. I've been fading in and out myself for various reasons - so I miss quite a bit.
I'm giving BB another whirl this year - Pros is here, will always be here - I find multi-fandom works for me, but it doesn't for everyone.
I don't follow Marvel myself - so I have no idea about the state of play in that fandom, but you can safely put Pros on the back burner - Star Trek has been for me for some while now - but it's still there and I can pick it up anytime that I have the energy.
And fandom isn't writing, you can be part of fandom without writing a word. So you could write Marvel and read Pros...I read Due South, NCIS and Starsky & Hutch without ever writing for them.
I have several Star Trek fic I want to finish, but I've learned not to beat myself up about the stuff I don't get to - better to concentrate on the stuff you do actually achieve - and I haven't given up on those ST fic - I fiddle with them every now
( ... )
I read it, but I am not on Tumblr and wasn't able to get back to post thoughts here. (There has been quite a bit of drama in my household the past several days, which is just now starting to calm down...)
What I thought: it really captured what might go through Doyle's mind if he wasn't about to tell Bodie how he felt (I liked how he referred to it as "being in Thing," capitals and all). And how does Doyle get around all that? Well, Virginia, that is how a story is born. I hope you are able to continue on with it, because so far it's just Doyle's POV...
Good to see you, BTW. Hope you're doing well enough to pop in and share the spring Pros posts. :-)
I read it through the newsletter link. I'm not on Tumblr.
I liked it a lot, particularly how many ways Ray finds to say and show that he loves Bodie without ever using that scary L word.
As for the voice, I'm not as long-term listening to Doyle as most, but it sounded like him to me.
I'm working on my third Pros story, and I certainly do identify with the idea that there's maybe not much I can contribute here. But that way lies writer's block. Just do it.
I really love this story of yours. Thank heavens for the Pros Newsletter or I would have missed it completely. Like the others, I am not on Tumblr nor DW, so could you please post on LJ more often.
Poor Ray, so madly in Thing with Bodie. Could we please have Bodies POV? Pretty please. *bg*
