If Kiku thought he was escaping at least a minor celebration he had another think coming. Grinning, he all but burst through the door, immediately starting in on (a rather subdued, it was almost naptime) version of 'Happy Birthday To You'.
"Look, I brought cake!" he laughed as he set it down on the table by his friend's lunchbox.

She saw that someone was already there, and...that one person she met a while back...Feliciano? was sneaking up on them. She followed them into the room and lightly patted Feliciano on the shoulder.
"Hey! It's nice to see you again," she said. She looked over at what he had just put down. "What's the occasion?" She pointed at the cake.
Reply
"Ah! Don't sing it so loud! Eeeh..." He looked around shyly, flailing his arms some. "F-Feliciano. What are you doing here-- Cake? Y-You got me a cake? You really didn't have to!" The 29-year old male blushed a bit harder, and this was only intensified as the female from upstairs joined in on the conversation.
"T-There is no occasion! Nothing important is going on at all, I assure you."

As he passed the doors, an Italian that Nick was sure he'd seen before walked by melodically singing 'Happy Birthday', a song which Nick found difficult to sing well in anyone's case.
He turned, curious, only to see that Director Honda was the recipient of the greeting. Nick smiled and turned his travelling path over to Kiku.
"Happy birthday, mate! I dun know it was today!"
Reply
"A-Ah, yes. It is my 29th birthday. But it's not a very important affair. H-How have you been? It has been a while."
Reply
"Y-ya birthday. Ya dun say..."
He appeared defeated. He'd 'forgotten' Director Honda's birthday and even though he had just met the Japanese man, he couldn't help but feel slightly...bad for not bringing something to help celebrate the moment. But his mood seemed to rebound and he grinned once again.
"Wow, twenty nine! Ya really got some experience under ya belt, eh?"
Nick winked. The insulting humor was just his way of showing affection, but the Australian never understood that his comments wouldn't always be taken as jokes. He was too used to speaking with Aiden and his own group of comrades.

"Y-Yes, I suppose that is so. I have been in many different sectors in life. though, if you had to ask me, that Korean man over there is older." He said it as if trying to deflect an award of being the oldest man in the company.

She placed the gift on the table and merely smiled. “Happy Birthday Director Honda.” She would’ve said his name, Kiku, but supposed that it would be too rude.

"A-Ah, Ms. Le. You really did not have to bring me anything at all-- really, it is fine." He inspected the package for a moment, puzzling what was inside but in true Japanese fashion, unless he was asked to open the gift, he would refrain until he returned home. He started to wonder where his good stationary was-- he had a lot of lank you cards to write.

"And you don't have you call me that. Mỹ Linh, or just Linh, is fine."
Reply
"Ms. Linh, then. How are things going in your department? I feel like I haven't spoken to you in quite sometime. Who do you work under, again? Mr. Bonnefoy?" He just assumed...

He pounced on Kiku from behind. "Happy birthday!" he bellowed. "Twenty-nine already?"
Reply
"Ueeh! Y-y-y-Yong-Soo! Y-You scared me!" He said with a heated blush on his cheeks. Slowly he regathered himself and coughed slightly, so as if to clear the air. "A-Ah... Yes. Twenty-nine. I am just one step closer to deaths door."
Reply
He set the box in front of the Japanese man. "Happy birthday. I know you're an old man. But twenty nine isn't that old. I'm already that old and I'm not anywhere near death's door." He gave a playful noogie. Already he'd taken so many liberties. Never mind that Kiku was Director and all...

Fingering the card nervously, he entered the break room. Seeing all the people, he blushed.
"Oh, ah. Hello Director Honda. Please accept this card as token of appreciation."
Reply
"Hello, Mr. Hassan. And, oh, my. You did not need to bring me anything... Thank you." He took the card and set it down politely before speaking again. "So, how has work been so far?"
Reply
"I am settling quite nicely. I hope to start work on some heavier projects after my orientation is complete. May I ask how are you faring?"
Reply
"The new OS came out with a bit more bugs than I would have liked so I have to field a fair amount of press, but other than that, I am fine."
