Um...not if Vichyssoise is the potato soup I'm aware of. *g*

Vichy France means France during the Vichy regime. It refers to the government of occupied France during WW2. Interesting period in history, and yet I suddenly realize I've read much more about people in all the *other* areas of Europe during WW2 and barely anything about France after it was occupied. We're slightly biased against the French over here and tend to think they have very little of interest to contribute. Heh. It's a terrible gap in my historical education.
