It's spring break for me, and I had all these great plans to catch up on grad work, and work work, and volunteer work but really all I've done is sit in my pjs, bake and watch Veronica Mars. And I feel oddly disconnected from LJ so sorry if I haven't gotten back to any messages??

I cringe when I think of how many things I loved once upon a time that, upon re-watching/re-reading, I realize how horribly problematic they are! I like the philosophy that it's okay to enjoy overall good things with problematic aspects, though, as long as you can see what is wrong and don't let it sway you into believing it's okay. I feel like there is so little I would be able to enjoy otherwise, heh.

I watched the first episode of Lost Girl a long time ago and liked it well enough, but for some reason, I just never got around to watching the rest! I still want to, will have to do that eventually :)

Lost Girl is good, but I can only take it at small doses right now. I hear the second season is better, so hopefully I'll be able to keep with ot.

Yeah, I think that most shows (okay, all shows) definitely at least a bit problematic. I just acknowledge that and try to enjoy what I can. Otherwise I would enjoy no media at all. And I think being a critical fan is fun too, and definitely makes you more aware of what you're consuming, and the social impacts it has. Which is actually really cool.

My Veronica Mars rewatch has to happen soon! I really, really, really want this movie.

ETA: Which is apparently why I'm commenting twice. It could also be bcs I'm just tired and can't remember what I did earlier today...;)
