[Action Thread][On the Trail][Closed to Naruko, Sachiko, Sakurai, and Iruka]

Team 7 was used to waiting hours on end for their sensei to show up for training or missions. That's why when Iruka showed up exactly after the half hour she'd given them to prepare, they stared a little. Iruka wondered why everyone seemed so miffed until remembering: this was Kakami-sensei's team

Sachiko shifted her bag slightly, keeping Iruka's form in her peripheral vision while still focused on the landscape and the possibility of enemy nin.

She hadn't been on a mission in a while, and she could feel the andrenaline pumping in her veins as she leapt through the trees. Of course, she would have appreciated it more had it been a higher ranked mission...

At least she got to get away from Konoha for a while.

"Mmmm, details would be handy. I know we're doing information gathering an' stuff, but..." She looked over at her former sensei. "Isn't there usually some cover story with these things or something?"

Sakurai didn't bother asking questions, just waiting for Iruka-sensei to inform them of their mission. Though he was listening, his attention was also elsewhere. He couldn't shake the feeling about the convenient timing of this mission. The rumors whispered around Konoha before they were so abruptly sent off. It just didn't fly.

Sakurai's eye twitched at the thought the Hokage was sending them away on purpose.

"Yes, Naruko, there is. And this is how we'll be doing ours..."

Stopping on a branch slightly ahead of them, Iruka turned and cleared her throat.

Standing before them, Iruka began the other half of their briefing.

"Our client is a damiyo--"

And that was about as far as she got before Naruko leaped in with an over-enthusiastic whoop.

((OOC: Hope you don't mind me pausing there, but when writing it out, that's just the kind of interruption I envisioned happening. Once Naruko gets the "dream mission" fantasies out of her system, we'll continue. =D))

"Shut it, usuratonkachi!" Sachiko exclaimed, distaste clearly evident in her tone of voice and expression. She was trying to listen, goddamnit. She's not about to screw up her first mission in such a long time just because of Naruko, and the blonde's voice is starting to grate on her nerves.

[uzumaki_naruko]

"Sachiko, you don't have to be so mean about it, geez!" Naruko huffed, and would've crossed her arms had she not needed them for important things like grabbing the next branch so she could sling-shot herself towards the next one.

"Ano sa, ano sa, what're we doing for the daimyo-dattebayo~!"

((OOC: I figured I had to get a dattebayo in at least once while I'm playing Naruko, might as well use it now. XD))

"Maa, maa." After their attention was properly redirected, Iruka continued on.

"Recently the damiyo has suspected one of a business men in his area of being the secret leader of a smuggling operation. The man's name is Yuzachi Iiro and owns most of the lumber yards in the county, which happens to be their main economical force, so he has lost of political influence. You should be able to see from that why the damiyo has chosen to avoid opening such an investigation himself, and that's where we come in.

"We've been hired to investigate and find any proof of this smuggling ring for the damiyo so that he can bring a solid close to it. And we will be doing so under new aliases."
