[Action Thread][On the Trail][Closed to Naruko, Sachiko, Sakurai, and Iruka]
Team 7 was used to waiting hours on end for their sensei to show up for training or missions. That's why when Iruka showed up exactly after the half hour she'd given them to prepare, they stared a little. Iruka wondered why everyone seemed so miffed until remembering: this was Kakami-sensei's team.
Things were moved along quickly and they were out and on their way soon after. The journey itself was a fairly uneventful one which suited Iruka just fine considering she'd be springing the rest of their mission details near the end of it. So far it had been a vague, factual briefing listing rank, purpose, and time: a C-rank information-gathering mission that they would be on for three days. Other than that however, and the plan was a bit fuzzy.
Iruka had been sent word of this assignment weeks ago, back when Kakami was still out of town and it made sense she would take lead in the mission instead of their usual sensei. However, no follow-up had been sent to her with details, making Iruka believe that perhaps there had been a cancellation or re-assignment of the mission; something not uncommon as paper got shuffled around. But then this morning, the mission was on her desk all filled out and official......and scheduled for the same afternoon.
Saving her special thanks to the Hokage for later, Iruka had rushed about to inform the students but needing to skimp on the details until they were on their way. And now with the city they were going to be located in coming into view over the crest of the hills, now was as good a time as any.
Iruka coughed.
"Well then. Before we go to meet our client, I suppose I should give you the rest of the details of our assignment..."
