[Thread] [Open to: All] [Sakurai's Surprise Party]

Apr 01, 2006 10:41

It had taken some time to do and it was a few days past Sakurai's birthday, but this played perfectly into Inosuke's plans. Under the guise of only getting him a romance novel for his birthday and asking him to come over to help him with some math problem (ha, like Inosuke actually did math-- well he only did when he was adding up his shopping ( Read more... )

"Inosuke-kun~!" Naruko pounced from behind, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. She was super excited, which may have added to her usual overzealous need for pouncing. She made a soft purring noise and let go, dropping to her feet, then dusted off her blue sundress. She beamed at him, proud of herself for not ruining the dress within an hour of putting it on. Naruko and non-durable clothing rarely mixed well.

Sachiko huffed in annoyance. She had been dragged away willingly, especially when she heard it had to do with her pink haired teammate from the training grounds by Naruko, and she was not pleased at all. However, she did reluctantly change into a simple yukata after a few arguments with Naruko.

Glaring at everyone's cheerful countenances and feeling very uncomfortable (having rarely been to "parties"), she slinked off to a corner to sulk.

"Welcome-- but try to keep your voices down, Sakurai will be here any second," clearly he was only telling Naruko this as Sachiko was as quiet as any ninja could be. Inosuke shuffled them inside. There was no way Sachiko would go along with hiding... was there?

"You two should find somewhere you can't be seen when Sakurai walks in," was all the blond said, leaving it up to her. He had too much of a head ache to deal with Sachiko's stubbornness.

"I brought cake!" Leigh sang when she arrived. "And fudge!"

She beamed at everyone as she easily balanced the boxes (fudge under cake) in her hands. She was wearing fitted green pants (legwarmers covering her ever-present weights) and a matching, loose-fitting long-sleeved pullover shirt while her braid was tied with the green ribbon Sakurai-kun had given her for White Day. "Where do you want me to put them?" she asked Inosuke.

Inosuke grinned at the energetic girl, looking around. There were treats everywhere (as Chouko-- and maybe a little from himself-- had worked all afternoon) but Sakurai would surely appreciate the gesture... and probably devour the cake when no one was looking.

"Thanks Leigh-san! You can just put it on a table anywhere!"

"Yosh!" Leigh gave a nice-girl pose and set the cake down and the fudge next to it. The cake cutter and serving spoon for fudge were arranged neatly. "Okay, now what?"

Aburame Hoshino was running late, which was a rare occurrence. This morning she had found her closet revamped with skirts, dresses and cute little tops. They were perfectly fine for people like Inosuke who can wear that stuff, but to Hoshino, it was hindering her style.

"And movement," Hoshino mumbled bitterly as she trudged in her new dress and shoes. Hoshino found it horrible uncomfortable to run in heels, especially since she had never worn a pair of womanly shoes. Except for that time when...

Ding-dong! Hoshino finally made it to Inosuke's house, only five minutes early. How disgraceful.

Hoshino adjusted her dress slightly as it had began to slip whist running, took her present from under her arm and waiting for someone to answer the door.

Peeking out the window, Inosuke was pleased to find it was not Sakurai there was a girl... who was that? For a second he was sure he had never seen her in his life. Taking a closer look after he opened the door he realized it was... Hoshino?!

"Hi! Um, come in. Thanks for coming, you look very nice," he stumbled over his words, torn between awe and amusement. Inosuke was sure she wouldn't have appreciated any sort of laughter.

Sakurai was just tired. Tired from a long day at work and tired from his parents making a fuss of his birthday and tired from his own fault of over-stressing. Which wasn't to say he was grumpy (well, maybe a little), but Sakurai certainly wasn't in the mood to dress up to go visit his friend. Besides, it was just Inosuke.

So rather than dress in his usual gear, he just threw on a red tank-top and shorts, leaving his hair tied back and his reading glasses on (he might want to read the book on the way back home, after all).

Cracking his neck, Sakurai knocked on the door to his friend’s house and waited. Not that he needed to, they’d been friends long enough he could come and go as he pleased, but he always felt it was impolite to just barge in. Unless he was going through Inosuke’s window.

After some obvious stumbling inside, Inosuke finally managed to quiet everyone down and make his way over to the door. Before opening it, he smoothed out his hair and clothes, trying not to look as frazzled as he felt.

"Yo, thanks for coming, this math problem was really getting to be a pain. I thought if anyone could solve it you could," Inosuke opened the door into the darkened house for Sakurai to come in.

Any second now, he would get the surprise of his life.

There was a loud BANG closeby, and glitter and streamers in bright colors suddenly filled the air. The culprits, a team of blondes in blue sundresses, aslo burst in a sparkling cloud. Out of which Naruko hopped.
