Gonzales comfirmed as new Attorney GeneralI can't believe the Senate just gave a sizable reward to a man advocating torture. Wait, yes I can.
"This so-called ill treatment and torture in detention centers, stories of which were spread everywhere among the people, and later by the prisoners who were freed ... were not, as some assumed, inflicted

Honestly, I don't think this is a biggie. I can certainly understand a sense of accomplishment at being able to take someone down at 1000 feet. I certainly couldn't do it. Honestly, I don't care if someone enjoys combat as long as they only do it when they're supposed to and act in an ethical manner.

Funny how I haven't seen that story anywhere.
Bisexuality utterly ignored, even by Stonewall. Again. It's interesting that the only study that I've seen that really adressed this issue did so in a "male sexuality vs. female sexuality" way. AFAIK, by the looks of things, female sexuality is more "adaptable", and open to environmental factors (which is not to say that there isn't a degree of hardwiring, obviously). I imagine it makes it harder to study. And bisexuality is pretty rare in men - even when you find it, those men tend to have a predisposition one way or the other. That's not something you find in women ( ... )

Eh? If bisexuality really was rarer in men than women, then surely there wouldn't be roughly equal numbers of men and women in bi social groups or bi online communities? And bisexual means being attracted to both men and women - that includes having a predisposition one way or the other. You don't find many bisexuals judging each other on whether they're "pure" bisexuals.

The point I was trying to make is that looking at people who are *definitively* one way or the other is probably a lot easier in men if the study I mentioned is true, and makes dealing with bisexuals, especially if a predisposition one way or the other enters into the equation, rather problematic in such studies. It's probably pretty damn hard to quantify even with those who consider them definitively one way or the other.

So can I. I understand if one enjoys the adrenalin rush and risk of combat. But thinking it's fun to shoot people because one likes to fight, especially in brawls, is something else entirely -- and a top Marine General should know what perception such comments can give (namely, that he's a hick bully) and keep it to himself.

I'm not surprised at all.

Every single study I've seen about that has been completely flawed and does not mesh with either the statistics of bisexual communities world-wide or surveys of people using the measure of 'attracted to both men and women' without using the term bisexual.
