I liked this. It was very smooth to read through, with a lot of poetic sensory details. Very spiritual and mystical. I like your writing ;] The 'and it's gone' was powerful, I found, in the way you used it. Because what the soul is, what keeps us alive, that will power, is such a mystery, and the vague 'it' just meshes well. Good job!

I feel that way, too - your whole comment made me think about a song I don't hear since a loong while ago, where near the end the lyrics are "Welcome / So close to the pale skin / I'm there / But one touch it's gone". It moved me a lot the first time I heard it - and it still does, somehow, when I listen to it... I guess it's kinda powerful, huh. As I said it's been a long while since I last heard it, so I don't think it was the inspiration for that... but maybe it has some part in it? xD
