Safe and sound (2/3)

So it's been, what? Eight weeks now? Less, maybe. Hopefully less. Still, it has been a long time since I posted some fanfic. Blame mymatedave. No, really. It's his fault. Because his request for a prequel to 'Twas the night before... inspired something that kind of grew and morphed and became horribly complex for me to write for some reason. And the darn ( Read more... )

I somehow missed the first part of this. Now I can't wait for the third. This is (again) really good. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for reading it *is relieved* I have no idea why, but it's been very hard to write for some reason.

I'm always happy to take responsibility for fic, especially nemofic. That said, really liked this fic, the Willow Dawn asparagus convo was funny and sad in turns, and Xander being his Xandery self was great stuff. Bravo. Now write more, you lazy french type person you.

I'm glad. Dawn is actually the character that I've written the least so far, come to think of it. Don't worry. More is on the way for tomorrow. The stunning conclusion, so to speak *grins*

Chocolatey mush at 3 in the morning hmm? My kids started sleeping through the night past 3 months old but then again I've been told thats pretty good. Shreddies? Do you mean like shredded Wheat cereal because if you do then no! a 12 month old would not eat that. The dry rice or oatmeal cereal that you find in the baby food section of the store might work to mix with Chocolate milk, though, I've never ever tried it. Straight chocolate milk out of a bottle or sippy cup would definately please them. Now taking something like cheerios and getting it good and soggy might work quite well too. When I read this I assume the chocolately mush your talking about is baby rice or oatmeal cereal mixed with chocolate milk. At a year old their starting to eat more solid foods. Please ignore this whole commentary to this point motherhood has driven me insane ( ... )

I am a terrible fictional baby father *hangs head in shame* I'll fix the Shreddies problem on the edit. Thanks :)

I'm glad you enjoyed this part. And hey! You write Xander really darn well!

No! Your not a terrible fictional baby father. Don't feel bad. My step-mother gave my oldest a piece of dry toast when he was a year old and she gave him to big of a piece and he got it lodged in his throat and choked. I turned him upside down and patted his back till it dislodged from his throat and it scared me half to death. It's not bad to give a baby that is a year old a little bit of dry toast but you've got to be careful how big a piece. I don't know that some folks might not give their kids shredded wheat at that age and they do fine with it, but I kinda get a mental image of the shreds of wheat choking a baby at that age, so I wouldn't. I generally was giving my kids oatmeal and rice cereal from baby food bottles like gerbers when they were that age. But theres also the dry cereal... rice and oatmeal in the babyfood section that you mix with milk or possibly chocolate milk, although I've never tried it with chocolate milk. That sort of cereal Buffy could definately give to Mina. And she could even toss a little bit of ( ... )

Thanks. I always enjoy writing Xander. No idea why I'm so hooked on the character, but I blame NB's performance more than anything :)

Really totally awesome story. On the chocolate mush at three in the morning? Hell no. There's too much sugar and the kid would never go back to sleep. Chocolate pudding at 8 in the morning? Hell yeah. Delicious and providing vital calcium and choclatey goodness. A baby at 3 in the morning gets a bottle of milk or formula. I have a kid. I knows from these things.

Aha! Thanks. I'd forgotten the sugar + baby = bouncing off the walls equation. Hmm... *thinks for a while before grinning slowly and deviously* I think Buffy's in for a rough time then *starts rubbing hands together*

Glad you liked this :)

Can I just say "lovely", and quite possibly "I've had a bit too much wine tonight to be completely coherent"?

It's good to see you again. Keep the dental surgery to a minimum and stay around for a while, 'kay? Love you.
