Sep 25, 2008 16:11

Ok, we hit my ridiculous level today, so I'm going to be starting to bring the rules in effect starting tonight when I actually have time to make up the big rule post of doom that we all love :)

As for individual intro posts...

THEY ARE ON HOLD Any individual intro posts that go up between now (4pm central time) and the rule posting tonight ( Read more... )

*raises hand* I am the earnest fool taking you up on your offer to answer questions.

I've never done NaNo before, although I have a lot of friends who have. (I decided I ought to join the madness.) So I get to the LJ-comm today and lo and behold find out it's this huge thing that's not just on LJ . . . so do I need to join the official site, too? Or just friend the NaNo journal?

That all depends.

People can do Nano without ever going to the official site. Last year I didn't even bother as this place takes up enough of my time and this year I'm stupid and doing therealljidol at the same time and I don't tend to like message boards much ( ... )

Okay, makes sense. Thanks ^_^

Oops. I saw the thing in the rules about no website stuff over here, but it was tied in with all this stuff about people ranting about website crashes, so I . . . kind of assumed it was something different . . . *ducks*

This should be fun!

Would it be appropriate for the Regional Friending thread, to comment in both my own physical region, and the region where my story is set? The setting is in the real world, in a place where I used to live, and the time of my story is during the past 5 years. But, it's not a border situation; they are about 3000 miles apart.

it's about making friends. I would suggest however that you let someone from the region start that thread, and if you don't see anyone after a week, then start it.

But hell, comment anywhere! No matter where you live, making new friends is the ultimate goal. The region breakdown just gives you a starting point.

My sanity thanks your timing. I look forward to making this years insane intro comment once the first thread goes up.

Cheers.

Thank you! :D

Will you be starting a thread for 2008 NaNo icons? Or should we post them on our own as we make them? This is my first year doing NaNo and as I normally do graphics instead of writing, my immediate inclination was to make art. *g* So I have a few done already...

I will definitely do so!

... would you like to make a new layout for the community for 2008?

NPH!*lick*

Excellent! I shall post my work there then. :)

*blink*
Hmmm...
I've never done layouts before. Mostly I stick to smaller things. I could try? Do you know, is it just one image of a certain size that you use as a background pic? And if so, what size would that be?

how about a header graphic, about 300 height by 700 width. make a community icon that goes with it. Go with your own idea for writing but stick with ideas of writing, nano, and such.

Then i could also use a matching MOD icon for myself :)

Oh, and randomly? If you find a way to work a ninja squirrel mod icon in as well, I will love you forever. I enforce my rules with ninja squirrels.
