First of all, I managed to get all of the lovely ladies, and the lovely chap at lunch on Saturday doing the BSL sign for turtle. I'd like you to do it too, it's the best sign ever: link your fingers together, in a sort of one fist on top of the other way, with both palms donwards, then wiggle your thumbs in circles, see? A turtle swimming ( Read more... )

There is no pink wedding picture sweetie!

Oh, and can you stick the photos from Sat on your photobucket account, so I can steal them.

Cheers.

My favourite BSL sign is 'partner' because you can do it *with* your partner, crossing your wrists over and wiggling your fists about, which makes it almost unbearably cute.

My BSL knowledge is almost entirely limited to words for animals. I'm not sure it's terribly useful, although I now also know how to say lesbian, gay and bisexual. He was a nice fellow until he started to become over-affectionate. Very odd.

I'm trying to practice that in the office, and I fear I'm doing it wrong. Do you think it would be possible for there to be another day in the week for me to learn how to sign?

How do you mean, another day in the week? :)

To do 'partner' correctly, stick your hands flat out in front of you vertically with your palms facing each other inwards. Then make the hands into fists in that orientation. Then stick your thumbs upwards. Then bring the hands together so the heels of your hands and the flat joints of the curled fingers touch, and the thumbs are side-by-side. Push your thumbs together so they are parallel, like two little people standing next to each other, and wiggle the joined hands from side to side.

The first thing I learnt how to say in BSL was 'bisexual pizza party'. :)

if there were 8 days each week, and 3 to the week end, I could take an extra night class, and it wouldn't drive me crazy, or anything, I promise!

See I can now say "bisexual turtle partners" or "bisexual rhinos thank you"

I know! I had to wear black and bright red for a month afterwards, in order to recover.

While searching for the sign for turtle (the description sounded a bit confusing) I randomly came across this article. Beware of noisy sex when you're deaf! ;o)

make a fist as if you were going to do "rock, paper, scissors", with the back of your hand facing upwards. The do the same with the left hand above the right hand, but link your fingers together. Stick out your thumbs, row! Is that a clearer explanation?

Still not convinced...
Doesn't look like a turtle. I'm crap at these things, anyway.
Take a photo tonight! :o)
