The wheelchair is now nothing more than a dolly to carry my school bag. A somewhat ridiculous arrangement, but the bag is at least 10 pounds, and I have enough to deal with right now ( Read more... )

This entry prompted me to go back and read more, to connect the dots that I had missed in the vast ocean that is LJI. Yeah, in a field of over a hundred entries you prompted me to go and find more and read them voluntarily...

Really? Wow, that is a HUGE compliment - it's soooo hard getting through all the entries at this stage! I appreciate you taking the time so much!

... and the recovery process is *NEVER* fun. Even for those lucky bastards who get everything back, and can live a truly normal life.

But it's a long, hard road to get back to "normal", even under the best of circumstances.

Yes, it's definitely been a long road and has taken some getting used to, but it's been worth it. Don't get me wrong, it's still hard some days, but I've learned to live with it.
