He was pretty sure that the only reason he was even doing this was because it was something that might make Luke: The Sentimental Sap happy. He liked making the brat happy.

Awww! :D

I definitely think being with Luke and being a part of the Snyder clan would open Reid up to the possibility of reconciling with Angus. I am glad the reunion went well.

Hee! at them both being targets of the angelic-face blackmailer.

“Yep. Just how many times has the guy been kidnapped?”

Ahaha. Luke wasn't even in this fic, but he was a major presence.

Thanks so much! I'm glad that you felt that Luke was a presence in the story - I was a little concerned about leaving him out but then I liked the idea that they didn't have to be in each other's pockets all the time.

I really liked this. I could see a reconciliation playing out exactly as you have this. Great job. Lots of funny stuff too, and you know I love that.

“The angelic-faced son of a bitch blackmailed me into it.”

Reid laughed. At Angus’ questioning look, he explained, “Blackmail’s a hobby of his.”

This part just cracked me up!

I'm so glad you liked it! There hasn't exactly been an outcry for Angus fics [given the fact that he's an ass] so I'm happy that you found the fic enjoyable.

We didn't get much of a glimpse of Angus on the show except for the chess piece thing so everyone makes him into this abusive ogre. Reid would have been far more messed up if that were true. I like how you played him as an anti-social. It is far more believable.

Thanks so much for the generous critique. You're always so good at pointing out things you like and it's very appreciated.

I felt that Angus came across as a pretty horrible human being on the show [even though Lily and Holden seemed charmed by him IIRC] but I do like the idea of Reid having a connection to his own family.

Ah, this was very good. Never liked Angus, but if anybody can make him human it's you. And you did an excellent job. Thanks for this Saterday treat!

Thanks a lot! Yeah, Angus wasn't exactly a charming man. And his characterization was odd. The actor is a great actor [it's been decades since he was Bradley Raines and he still creeps me out] but I wasnt' sure what he and the writers were trying to convey. Did he even know Reid was gay? Shrug. I'd rewatch those scenes but . . .

Good question. According to the way he reacted on the Luke-news, I'd say no. But that wouldn't fit in with Reid's own statement about knowing he was gay when he was nine and never hiding it.

Ah well, it wouldn't be the first time those writers were not very consistent:-)
I mean...giving Luke a glass of champagne on Molly's-wedding-that-didn't-happen? Hello!

And I also saw Angus as 'Angel's father', so I was very confused. And mad about the whole train-thing-that-didn't-happen:-)))

So I will put it away in my 'whatever' file:-)

Reading a nancygrew-fic is like opening a goodiebag that is loaded with all the good things you always wanted to have even without knowing it.
This one is no exception. Full of good stuff!
