Hair - a crack ficlet

Summary: Reid attends the Fourth of July picnic at the Snyder farm.
Reid realized that the Fourth of July wasn’t a completely ridiculous holiday whose only selling point was the preponderance of head injuries due to idiots believing fireworks accidents only happened to other idiots. Say what you will about Holden Snyder, he makes a mean Jumbo Cheesburger.
Reid was communing with his Jumbo Cheeseburger when he was interrupted by a preponderance of young Snyders flopping down onto his blanket. Luke, Aaron, and Parker were all half-naked and dripping wet. Reid felt a twinge of regret that his first thought was of bacteria-infected pond water and not porn scenarios.
Luke and the others had their own Jumbo Cheeseburgers.
Reid suddenly frowned at Luke.
“What?” asked Luke nervously.
“Your hair.”
“What about it?”
“When we arrived this morning, you were a brunette. Did you take the time to dye your hair blond during a family picnic?”
Luke looked puzzled. “I was in the sun all day. You know that my hair lightens and darkens depending upon the time I spend outdoors.”
“No, I don’t know that,” insisted Reid. “You dye your hair so often, I’m clueless about your natural shade.”
Luke huffed. “I don’t dye my hair!”
Reid raised his eyebrow in disbelief.
Aaron shrugged. “Weirdly, his hair does change colors easily depending upon how much time he’s spent in the sun. I used to convince morons that Luke had Mood Hair and that they should fear him when his hair darkened.”
Parker nodded sadly. “I was pretty old by the time I realized that Aaron was full of crap.”
Reid frowned. He was pretty sure that they were playing with him.
“Does your hair change lengths and consistencies depending upon the sun, too?” Reid asked.
Luke smiled. “No. That’s dependant upon the amount of time between hair cuts and if my hair products are beyond their sell date.”
