Loved it. I'm addicted to post-Countrycide stories so I'm overjoyed when someone does something new. I like the part where Ianto thinks about Lisa and then remembers that Jack is talking about Tosh. Seems like the way his brain would be working - everything circling around that one thing. And I love how not-comforting Jack is. :)

Thanks. Ianto is not in the clear-thinking place here. And Jack knows firsthand you can't talk someone down from a ledge without their assent. I swear my favorite thing about them is how screwed up they both are, and how that works for them together.

Oh wow, that was lovely. A very diffent take on the aftermath of the cannibals. I like it. There's a realism to it for these man and their situation. It feels right. Very nice.

I can't tell you how much I loved your story (i think I say that about all your stories!). Iantos' quiet pain is much more realistic than most people imagine. Sometimes it's a deep weariness of life or the repetetiveness of pain not the angst or pain itself that will prompt someone to suicide. I loved Jack's reaction as well. It's so true that you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved but sometimes they do and they just need that one person to say it's okay if you do it and it's okay if you don't. I especially loved that Jack knew that he might not be able to but he still wanted to try.

Thanks! (You can say it as often as you like. ;) ) If you don't see a way out, any way out starts to look good. Ianto's there, but Jack's been there too. I think he takes his people and tries to save each one as a way of saving himself, you know?

i think this story wins at life. This is probably one of the best post-Countrycide fics I've ever read. I love both of their voices.. Poor Jack already knowing what to do... and Ianto who planned this out. He's so broken... and putting the pieces back together is one hell of a process.

Beautiful, my friend. utterly beautiful.

Thank you. Jack's been on both sides of this before. The good news is, he's come out the other side and can show Ianto the way.
