I loved this. Particularly Jack's mother's story, and the story about Martha walking the world and learning the plants. But I am a horticulturalist and an herbalist, so I am a little biased. My Mom calls me a witch. =P

:) One of my former roommates was an herbalist. She grew the coolest things in our backyard. Glad it rang true for you!

"Ianto let the sound wash over them, keeping his eyes on Jack's face. He always knew what Jack was thinking, what they all were thinking. Reading body language and paying attention to the words people used had nothing to do with mindreading, whatever Gwen said when she teased him for anticipating their needs too well. Anyone could acquire the skill, he'd always believed, but sometimes he wondered why so few bothered to try ( ... )

:D I know a lot of people with that same talent. Sometimes it's useful. Sometimes, it's not. Thanks for reading!

Thank you! It was the weirdest thing to take over my brain in ages.

Oh what a lovely idea. I am really getting very fond of this team with the traitors in their midst. I love the little slice of life that has Martha moving on, and the story of Estelle and her witch friends, very sad and sweet.

The little snippets, about Lisa, and Jack's mother, also rather brilliant, I love the glimpse of Jack's lifeline.

Thanks. :D The bits with Jack's mom were what sold it for me.

I don't think I have words to describe how lovely, poignant & true this story is. Lovely from beginning to end. I loved the parts with Jacks mother & Lisa's fortune. & how all the women in the story have something which in other times would be considered witchcraft, but of course isn't. This story really affected me. Wish I could put it more clearly than that.

Thanks so much for the kind words. :) I have trouble talking about the ones that write themselves, too, so we're even.
