Sleepover with Candy

[Things had been crazy lately. It felt like every time Elektra turned around one of the boys was in a crisis that needed her attention even if there was little she could do directly for them. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad if this house hadn't become far too big without Bruce to talk to or her father giving her the cold shoulder when he was home.

[Candy felt exhausted. Owen, Bruce, Dexter, and now Gale? They were wearing her out with worry. She'd spend the majority of the week with Gale, though. He wasn't entirely better but he was getting there, and until he felt well she didn't really want to go home. Melissa was covering for her at least, but missing a week of school? And lying to her father for a week? She'd have to go back sooner or later, whether Gale was better or not.

When Elektra called her up for yet another excuse not to go home, Candy couldn't help but take it. Not that she didn't want to see Elektra either. Especially since the last time just the two of them hung out they'd ended up wasted beyond belief.

Eventually Candy showed up at the mansion, though. No one stopping her from entering. Who didn't know her there by now? She made her way to Elektra's room where she knocked politely before poking her head in.]

[Elektra smiled at the sight of her. Owen, on the other hand, sprinted out of her arms toward his master. Elektra couldn't help feeling a surge of pride to have such a loyal dog in the house. Too bad he was too small to attack intruders effectively.]

I noticed. You know he isn't going to remember I'm here until you go. [Not that Elektra minded at all.]

[But small dogs were the best. Candy set her bag down inside the door as she bent down to pick Owen up, laughing as he squirmed in her arms. See? Perfect holding size~]

It's only because he doesn't get to see me all the time is why. [Brb spoiling Owen forever. But she's going to go sit on the bed next to Elektra now.]

I needed the company. [She shrugs as if to dismiss the whole thing.]

Plus he wanted to see you again.
