Emi is just starting to read in English. Her favorite children book in English right now is The Perfect Nest. She has grabbed most of my Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa manga novels and has gone over them, leaving me to wonder if she is actually reading or just trying.

Twilight?! *lol* Kids these days~!

Anyway. Recommendations. ^__^
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (just in case she hasn't read it already).
- 101 Dalmations.
- Charlotte's Web.
- Stuart Little.
- Pipi Longstocking.
- Which Witch?
- Finn Family Moomintroll.

For when she's a little older: Anne of Green Gables, and Little Women. I know, I know, all of these other than HP are ancient classics. But I loved them as a kid. ^__^

Um, if you're not sure just how good Emi's reading level is in English, you could try her on pictures books for older kids (if you haven't already). Shaun Tan is a recent author/artist and his books are glorious.

Thank you! I've actually been trying to get Emi to read the first Harry Potter book in Spanish before she tries in English, but it's kind of annoying when she wants to try more difficult books. >.< Hope to get her some books after we move to the U.S. ^^

I loved Enid Blyton's books as a child. But I don't think she's popular here. ^^;;;
